Had We Never Parted

Here’s to who we were then
Rough spirits, not yet broken-hearted
Here’s to all we might have been
Had we never parted.

Here’s to the lost versions of ourselves
The child in us, that walks no more
From days before dreams were placed on shelves
And locked behind reality’s door.

Here’s to the fantasy, here’s to the minds
Here’s to the days that never ended
A memory — a girl searches and finds
herself in time suspended.

Here’s to when we went to the end of the world and back again
Here’s to all the adventures we never started
Here’s to who I might have been
Had we never parted.
